Chinese shares close higher, extend rebound
Shanghai Composite up 0.27% at 3,052 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 25 Apr - Chinese shares closed higher, extending yesterday's rebound and outperforming their Asian peers as investors hunted for bargains after the recent selloff.
Helping support investor sentiment, HSBC said today that its funds have built significant exposure to mainland China equities.
Earlier this week, UBS analysts forecast foreign investors would gradually return to China's market via the Stock Connect and upgraded MSCI China equities to 'overweight'.
In mainland stock market dealings real estate, healthcare and financial shares were among the biggest advancers, while consumer stocks slid.
The Shanghai Composite index closed up 0.27% at 3,052 points, while the Shenzhen CSI 300 closed up 0.25% at 3,530 points.
Mainland stocks slid earlier this week, after outperforming their regional peers last week on persistent optimism over more stimulus measures to support the country's economy following figures pointing to a patchy economic recovery.
