Chevron agrees 20-year PPA with Microsoft for Texas data center
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 22 giu - Chevron Corporation said it had agreed to fuel a a Microsoft-operated data center in Texas with gas under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
The data center, called Project Kilby, is expected to deliver around 2.67 gigawatts of capacity, built through a phased, modular approach that enables incremental expansion over time.
Most of the generation will come from large GE Vernova turbines and associated electrical infrastructure, with additional capacity provided by Solar Turbines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar.
