Campari Q1 pretax profit 145.0 mln eur, up 8.6%

Q1 sales 663.5 mln eur, down 0.7% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan , 07 May - The Italian drinks group Campari said it posted a pretax profit of 145.0 million euros in the first quarter of 2024, up by a reported 8.6% compared to the year earlier.

Adjusted EBITDA amounted to 181.1 million euros, down by 1.7% on a reported basis and up 0.6% organically. The adjusted EBITDA margin was 27.3%.

Sales for the quarter stood at 663.5 million euros, down by 0.7% on a reported basis as currency headwinds outweighed the positive impact of a business perimeter impact driven by agency brands.

On an organic basis, first quarter sales rose by 0.2%, with growth " primarily driven by overall continued strength in aperitifs led by Campari and Aperol despite the challenging comparison base, largely thanks to EMEA and LATAM markets, while Espolon in the US continued to show solid momentum." Campari said its outlook for the full year remains unchanged.
