ASML Q1 EPS 3.11 eur vs 5.21 in Q4

Q1 revenue 5.290 bln eur vs 7.237 bln in Q4 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Amsterdam, 17 Apr - ASML, the Dutch manufacturer of lithography systems, said that in the first quarter of 2024 earnings per share fell to 3.11 euros from 5.21 in the fourth quarter as revenue dropped to 5.290 billion euros from 7.237 billion.

The gross margin narrowed to 51.0% from 51.4%.

Net bookings slumped to 3.611 billion euros from 9.186 billion the previous quarter.

ASML expects second quarter net sales of 5.7-6.2 billion euros and a gross margin of 50-51%.

"Our outlook for the full year 2024 is unchanged, with the second half of the year expected to be stronger than the first half, in line with the industry's continued recovery from the downturn. We see 2024 as a transition year with continued investments in both capacity ramp and technology, to be ready for the turn in the cycle," said the president and chief executive officer Peter Wennink.

ASML expects 2024 total net sales to be similar to 2023.
