Alstom shares up after North American signaling ops sale
Shares up almost 5% in flat market (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Paris, 22 Apr - Shares in French rail specialist Alstom were sharply higher after the company announced on Friday that it has signed an agreement to sell its North American conventional signaling business to Knorr Bremse for 630 million euros.
At 0718 GMT, Alstom shares were up 4.7% at 15.81, while the CAC40 was 0.37% higher.
Alstom said the deal is part of the comprehensive company action plan that Alstom announced on November 15,2023, aiming at reinforcing its leadership position in the rail industry.
The division in the 2023/2024 fiscal year had revenue of approximately 300 million euros.
