(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 14 nov - The French railway equipment manufacturer Alstom said that in the first half ended September 30 net profit rose to 220 million euros from 53 million a year earlier.

Adjusted net profit grew to 338 million euros from 224 million.

Sales rose 3% to 9.059 billion euros, with organic growth at 8%.

Adjusted EBIT rose 13% to 580 million euros, with the margin improving 0.5 percentage points to 6.4%.

Free cash flow was a negative 740 million euros against a negative 138 million a year earlier.

For the full year, Alstom now expects organic sales growth above 5%, up from a previous estimate of 3-5%.

Adjusted EBIT margin is still expected to be around 7% and free cash free is still forecast at 200-400 million euros in.
