Airtel Africa FY adj EPS 10.1 US cents, down 25.9%

Final div 3.57 cents/share (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 09 May - The London-based telecommunications group Airtel Africa, which operates in 14 African countries, said that in the full year ended March 31 it posted a loss of 4.4 US cents compared with earnings of 17.7 cents a year earlier while adjusted EPS fell 25.9% to 10.1 cents.

Revenue fell 5.3% to 4.979 billion dollars, but rose 20.9% at constant currency rates.

EBITDA margin fell to 48.8% from 49.0%.

The board has recommended a final dividend of 3.57 cents per share, making the total dividend for the full year at 5.95 cents per share.

It also approved a share buyback programme of up to 100 million dollars, over a period of up to 12 months, Airtel Africa said.
