AB InBev Q1 revenue 15.267 bln usd, up 12.0%; up 5.8% organically
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 5 mag - Beer maker AB InBev said that in the first quarter revenue rose a reported 12% and an organic 5.8% to 15.267 billion dollars, with revenue per hectoliter up 4.5%.
There was an 8.2% increase in combined revenue of megabrands, led by Corona, which grew by 16% outside of its home market.
Revenue of non alcoholic beer grew 27% and Beyond Beer revenue increased 37%. Gross merchandise value (GMV) from sales of third-party products through BEES Marketplace jumped 55% to reach 1.1 billion dollars.
Volumes increased by 0.8%, with beer volumes up by 1.2% and non-beer volumes down by 1.9% Normalized EBITDA grew 5.3% to 5.437 billion dollars, with a margin contraction of 15 basis points to 35.6%.
Underlying profit rose to 1.923 billion dollars from 1.606 billion a year ago. Reported profit attributable to equity holders of AB InBev was 2.563 billion dollars compared to 2.148 billion a year ago, both positively impacted by non-underlying items.
Underlying earnings per share rose a reported 20.8% to 0.97 dollars and were 8.8% higher on a constant currency basis.
AB InBev said it continues to expect EBITDA to grow in line with the medium-term outlook of between 4-8%. The outlook reflects the current assessment of inflation and other macroeconomic conditions.
Net pension interest expenses and accretion expenses are expected to be in the range of 190 to 220 million dollars per quarter, depending on currency and interest rate fluctuations.
Net capital expenditure is expected to be between 3.5-4.0.
