Lower rise than expected (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 02 May - US non-farm productivity in the first quarter of 2024 rose 0.3% from the previous three months, according to a reading from the US Labor Department.

Expectations were for a rise of 0.8%.

Output increased 1.3% while hours worked increased 1.0%, it said.

Compared to the same quarter a year ago, annual average productivity increased 2.9%.
