US March trade deficit 69.4 bln usd, down 0.1% mth/mth

In line with expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 02 May - The US trade deficit for goods dropped 0.1% month on month in March to 69.4 billion dollars, according to advanced data released by the US Census Bureau.

Economists were expecting a trade deficit of 69.5 billion dollars.

Imports declined 1.6% to 327.0 billion dollars while exports fell 2.0% to 257.6 billion.

Year-to-date, the goods and services deficit rose 6.5 billion dollars, or 3.2%, from the same period in 2023. Exports increased 9.1 billion dollars, or 1.2%; while imports increased 15.6 billion dollars, or 1.6%.
