US March private sector jobs up 62,000 mth/mth - ADP
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 1 apr - The US private sector gained 62,000 jobs in March compared with the previous month, according to business outsourcing group ADP's Monthly Employment Report.
Economists were expecting some 41,000 new private sector jobs to be gained.
'Overall hiring is steady, but job growth continues to favor certain industries, including health care,' Nela Richardson, chief economist, ADP, said. 'In March, this solid performance was accompanied by a boost in pay gains for job-changers." The data showed 85,000 jobs created at small firms, 20,000 lost at mid-sized firms and 4,000 lost at large businesses.
The survey showed that 32,000 jobs were gained in the service-providing sector and 30,000 gained in the goods-providing sector.
The overall reading for February was revised from 63,000 to.
