(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 31 mar - Home prices in the 20 largest metropolitan areas of the US rose 1.2% in January compared to the same period of last year, S&P Dow Jones said in its latest S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices report.

Expectations were for a 1.4% rise.

The national index posted a 0.9% annual gain while the 10 city index increased 1.7% year-over-year.

On a monthly basis and before seasonal adjustments, the 20 city index fell 0.1% in January, while the 10 city index.

dropped 0.03% and the national index slipped 0.1%.
