Turkish central bank revises up inflation forecast for end 2026 to 26%
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 14 mag - The Turkish central bank has revised upwards its forecast for inflation at end 2026 to 26% from a previous 16% amid higher energy prices in the wake of the war between Iran and the US, said bank governor Fatih Karahan.
Turkey's annual inflation rate stood at 32.4% in April.
Karahan said the central bank now sees inflation falling to 15% by the end of 2027 and 9% by the end of 2028 and reiterated that it would maintain a tight monetary policy.
