(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 11 giu - President Donald Trump reiterated his view that the Federal Reserve should cut interest rates by one full percentage point.

The comment comes after consumer price data, CPI, for May came in softer than expected.

"CPI JUST OUT. GREAT NUMBERS! FED SHOULD LOWER ONE FULL POINT. WOULD PAY MUCH LESS INTEREST ON DEBT COMING DUE. SO IMPORTANT!!!" Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Trump has repeatedly called on the Fed and its chair Jerome Powell to cut rates to help stimulate economic growth.

The Fed is due to meet next week on monetary policy.
