OECD Q4 real household income per capita up 0.5% qtr/qtr

2023 real household income per capita up 1.2% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Paris , 07 May - In the fourth quarter of 2023, real household income per capita in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) area increased by 0.5% compared to the previous quarter after falling by 0.2% in the third quarter, data from the OECD showed. Growth in real income per capita exceeded growth in real GDP per capita of 0.2%.

Real household income per capita increased in most OECD countries in the fourth quarter. Of the 19 countries for which data is available, 11 registered an increase, six saw a decrease and two were flat.

In 2023 as a whole, real household income per capita grew by 1.2% across the OECD, rebounding from the record fall in 2022 when Covid-19 assistance programmes were ending, while GDP per capita increased by 1.1%.
