Sales of food products rise, non-food decreases (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 08 May - In March 2024 compared with the previous month, the value of Italian retail sales was unchanged while sales volumes decreased by 0.1%, data from statistics institute Istat showed.

Sales of food products rose by 0.2% in value terms and by 0.1% in volumes while non-food products saw a 0.3% decline in both value and volume terms.

In March 2024 compared to the year earlier, retail sales rose by 2.0% in value terms and by 0.3% in volumes. Food sales grew by 6.4% in value and by 3.6% in volumes, while non-food sales decreased by 1.5% in value and by 2.0% in volumes.
