Energy deficit narrowed to 4.012 bln eur (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 29 Apr - In March 2024, Italy's trade surplus with non-European Union countries widened to 5.603 billion euros from 4.161 billion the year earlier, according to data from statistics institute Istat.

The energy products deficit narrowed to 4.012 billion euros from 6.282 billion the year earlier while the trade surplus for non-energy products decreased to 9.615 billion from 10.444 billion.

In March 2024 compared with the previous month, Italian exports to non-EU countries fell by 4.5% while imports from those countries rose by 3.1%.

Year on year, Italian exports to non-EU countries were down 5.7% after rising by 2.8% the previous month.
