Hourly wages for public administration workers up 1.6% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome, 30 Apr - Italian hourly wages were up 0.3% in March compared to February and were 3.0% higher than the year earlier, according to data from national statistical office Istat.

Private sector workers in industry saw a 4.7% annual rise in hourly wages in March while those in the services sector saw a 2.6% increase. Hourly wages for workers in the public administration increased 1.6%.

In the first quarter of 2024, average hourly wages were up 2.8% compared to the same period of 2023.
