Global GDP seen up 2.9% in 2026, 3.0% in 2027 - OECD

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 26 mar - Global gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to rise by 2.9% in 2026, down from growth of 3.3% in 2025, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said in its interim economic outlook.

The forecast for 2026 is unchanged from the OECD's previous outlook.

Global GDP is now projected to rise by 3.0% in 2027, below the previous OECD forecast for 3.1% growth that year.

According to the OECD, GDP growth will be supported by robust technology-related investment and gradually lower effective tax rates. "However, the evolving conflict in the Middle East weighs on growth and generates significant uncertainty around global demand," the OECD noted.

The OECD said its projections assume that the current energy market disruption is temporary, with prices easing from mid.

2026 onward.
