The annual growth rate of the narrower aggregate M1, which comprises currency in circulation and overnight deposits, decreased to 4.6% in March from 4.8% in February.
The annual growth rate of short-term deposits other than overnight deposits (M2-M1) decreased to a negative 0.1% in March from a positive 0.2% in February.
The annual growth rate of marketable instruments (M3-M2) increased to 4.5% in March from a negative 1.3% in February.
The annual growth rate of total claims on euro area residents increased to 2.4% in March from 2.2% in the previous month.
The annual growth rate of claims on general government increased to 0.4% in March from 0.1% in February, while the annual growth rate of claims on the private sector increased to 3.2% in March from 3.0% in February.
The annual growth rate of adjusted loans to the private sector rose to 3.5% in March from 3.3% in February. Within the non-financial private sector, the annual growth rate of adjusted loans to households stood at 3.0% in March, unchanged from the previous month, while the annual growth rate of adjusted loans to non-financial corporations.
