Eurozone March economic sentiment 96.6, down 1.6 pts vs Feb
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milano, 30 mar - In March, the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) decreased by 1.6 points to 96.6 in the eurozone and by 1.5 points to 96.7 in the European Union, according to the European Commission.
The decline in the indicator in the EU resulted from "considerably lower" confidence among consumers and retailers and to a much smaller extent, service managers. Confidence in construction improved somewhat, while it remained broadly unchanged in industry.
Among the largest EU economies, the ESI dropped most in France (down 3.7 points), followed by Spain (down 2.4 points), the Netherlands (down 1.5 points) and Italy (down 1.3 points), while it remained broadly stable in Poland (down.
0.3 points) and Germany (down 0.1 points).
