Canada March merchandise trade deficit 2.3 bln dlr

Largest deficit since June 2023 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 02 May - In March, Canada's merchandise trade balance went to a deficit of 2.3 billion local dollars from a surplus of 476 million in February, according to Statistics Canada.

The trade deficit is the largest since June 2023.

In March, Canada's merchandise exports declined 5.3% month on month to 62.6 billion dollars, while imports were down 1.2% to 64.8 billion.
