Today is the kick off date of the STAR Conference of Milan

-          Record number of meetings requested: more than 2,400

-          285 participating investors: 63 per cent foreign, from 177 investment houses

On 21 and 22 March, 61 companies listed on Borsa Italiana’s  STAR segment will attend the STAR Conference, the annual event dedicated to meeting with international investors.   

More than 2,400 meetings have been requested, the highest number ever, with a daily average of 40 meetings per company.

285 investors from 177 investment houses, 37 per cent domestic and 63 per cent international (Italy 37 per cent, France 13 per cent, Switzerland 12 per cent, UK 12 per cent, Germany 9 per cent, US 5 per cent and Other 12 per cent) will participate in the Conference.

STAR segment: Overview
Today, Borsa Italiana’s STAR segment includes 70 listed companies with a total market capitalization of €37.4 billion (data as at February, 2017). International investor capital plays a significant role in STAR companies, with 90 per cent of institutional capital originating from foreign investors.

FTSE Italia STAR is up 220 per cent since 2002 (data as at March 2017). 2016 has been a positive year for the STAR segment: FTSE Italia STAR is up 22 per cent from the beginning of the year and up 13 per cent since 2017. The index representing the STAR segment has constantly outperformed the FTSE Italia All-Share: from the beginning of 2003 it is up 293 per cent (data as at 15 March, 2017).
