Vontobel recently made its debut on Borsa Italiana’s SeDeX segment, the Italian market for leveraged products. Between 24 May and 20 June, Vontobel listed 76 certificates with constant leverage on SeDeX, which has seen the company become the issuer with the largest product range on the market.

As a result, the total number of certificates with constant leverage listed on SeDeX has risen from 93 to 169, representing an increase of 82 per cent. As well replicating a number of existing underlying instruments, Vontobel has listed a wide range of new underlying instruments such as the first constant leverage certificates x5 and x7 on financial foreign indexes, DJ Industrial Average and Nikkei 225. In commodities, Vontobel introduced the leverage x7 on Brent oil and WTI and also launched the first certificates on natural gas future and on agricultural commodities: coffee, corn and wheat.

The company extended its range of precious metals products and listed the first constant leveraged product on silver and palladium. This comprehensive leverage portfolio enables retail and institutional investors to customize and diversify their portfolios.

Pietro Poletto, Head of Fixed Income Market of London Stock Exchange Group, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Vontobel in Borsa Italiana. The listing of over 70 instruments, and many other underlying ones, significantly increases the offering of constant leveraged certificates on the market. This debut on SeDeX is a further confirmation of the attractiveness of this market, already the leader in Europe for trading in leverage certificates.”

Vontobel Asset Management is an active asset manager with Swiss roots and a global presence. The expansion of the product range in Italy represents a further expansion of the existing platform, where the bank has had an established presence since 2001 as an asset manager. Vontobel has expanded its wealth management footprint in Italy following the acquisition of Finter Bank from Gruppo Italmobiliare, which is owned by the Pesenti family, in Semptember 2015.
