IDEM: 14 new stock option and future contracts

14 new stock option and future contracts start trading from 19 November 2007 on IDEM, Borsa Italiana’s Derivatives Market.

Stock option and future contracts are on Buzzi Unicem, Erg, Ifil, Impregilo, Prysmian, Unipol ordinary shares, only stock option contracts on Intesa Sanpaolo saving shares and only stock future contracts on Saras ordinary shares.

Starting from tomorrow stock option contracts on Intesa Sanpaolo ordinary shares with 36 months expiry will be available.

47 stock option and 47 stock future contracts are the total instruments negotiated on the market.

The new contracts are supported by the presence of 6 market makers who guarantee the liquidity. More in details, Banca Aletti and Banca IMI operate on stock future contracts, while Abaxbank, Deutsche Bank, Euromobiliare SIM and Wolverine Trading UK operate on stock options.  

In the first 10 months of 2007, IDEM market registered more than 32 millions standard contracts (up 21% vs. same period 2006), thus exceeding the total contracts number reached in 2006. The stock option contracts January/October 2007 period registered a growth of 32% vs. the same period of 2006.
